What's Going on....

Summer 2011

The major project for this summer is connecting to the City of Yuma sewer system. Work began in April with the locating of all septic tanks throughout the resort and marking them for future demolition. We now are in the process of installing the sewer pipes and man holes in our streets. This began in the northeast corner of the resort and is proceeding to the southwest corner.

A special machine was used to break up the blacktop and return it to the street in a manner that enables us to continue using the streets until the pipe is buried. It has been a real challenge for the crew to dig around all the other pipes, conduits, irrigation lines, gas lines, etc. as seen in some of the photos. After the sewer lines are all installed the connections will be made to our current lines and the septic tanks will be pumped and made inoperative.
In addition to the sewer project we have other summer jobs ongoing. All of our palm trees are trimmed and skinned. This is done every summer to lessen the chance of the trees catching on fire from a lightening strike.
Our indoor pool is getting a face lift. The fiberglass liner was coming loose from the concrete, so we had it removed. Two of the sets of stairs going into the pool are going to be wider, making access to the pool easier. We’ll have more pictures as the work progresses.
